Sent Church is looking for a driven leader who is passionate about growing kids and parents closer to Jesus, connecting kids and leaders together in small groups, building a team of leaders that invest in kids each week, and empowering kids, parents, and leaders to live sent every day.


Position:                            Children’s Ministry Director

Classification:                  Ministry Staff

Direct Report to:             Family Pastor

                                             Area Large Group Coordinators
                                             Curriculum & Supply Coordinators

Summary of Position:
The Children’s Ministry Director is a leader of leaders who is capable of providing strategic oversight and organizational leadership to the Sent Kids Ministry of Sent Church, in coordination with the Family Pastor. The Children’s Ministry Director is someone who supports the mission, vision, and values of Sent Church by helping preschool through 5th-grade children take their next steps towards Christ and supporting/encouraging parents in discipling their children.
As Children’s Ministry Director, you will provide oversight and guidance for Sent Kids Ministry.  This will include, but not be limited to staffing/resourcing weekly children’s environments, leading Sent Kid Ministries volunteers, attending regularly scheduled staff meetings, and other responsibilities assigned by the Family or Lead Pastors.

Core responsibilities:

(1) Lead comprehensive children’s ministry (Nursery, Preschool, K-3rd, and 4th & 5th)

a.Drive Vision and Direction of Sent Church’s Children’s Ministry to nursery, preschool and elementary-age children

–Implementation of vision and strategy
–Ministry design/Curriculum development
–Lead families through an intentional strategy and monthly involvement opportunities
–Create strong parent/church partnerships through spiritual development at home
–Seek out opportunities to engage the community

b. Create a Missionary-Minded Environment

–Serve leaders, parents, and kids on a weekly basis
–Create opportunities for kids and families to serve others and each other.
–Provide support and opportunities for growth for leaders
–Encourage leaders and children to impact their communities and daily interactions for the Kingdom

c. Lead Team Morale

–Inspire leaders to maximize their God-given potential
–Enlist passionate and committed volunteers
–Deliver next-level training for effective ministry
–Consistently evaluate

(2)  Assist with and lead Sent Second Saturdays

a.Create serving opportunities for Sent Families

–Assist in gathering materials and supplies
–Programming and Scheduling
–Lead appointed service events

b. Develop an inter-generational community

–Create programming to involve all age-levels of the church
–Strategize interaction opportunities during serving

(3)  Pastoral Care & Communication

a. Stay engaged with families

–Develop Strong Teacher/Parent Relationships
–Design and deliver monthly newsletters to families and weekly/monthly video instruction/support to volunteers

b. Provide support and encouragement for parents/families as they disciple their children
