21 Days of Prayer and Fasting – January 2019


On January 6th, we will kick off 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting in anticipation of a great 2019 here at Sent Church. The focus of this fasting will be to dedicate ourselves to spending more time in the Bible. Whether that is in a Bible Plan or a devotional, we want to encourage everyone to open their Bible more and dig into what God has written for us.

This fast will go from January 6th and end on the 27th. On the 27th, we will have a day of celebration together as a church. After 2nd service, we will have a Barbecue Battle Potluck. If you are interested in learning more about this event, please contact Mike Keel.

What to Read:

As a church, we are encouraging everyone to read this plan: Deeper Into Scripture: A 21-Day Plan. We will post the daily scripture reading on Facebook and everyone is encouraged to discuss and comment. We would love for everyone to join us in growing closer to Jesus and diving deeper into His word.

If you would like to read on your own or pick a different plan, feel free to do so. This is just a recommended plan for those who wish to follow along.

Ways to Fast:

In order to help you prepare for this powerful spiritual exercise, we’d like to provide you with some fasting methods to prayerfully consider over the next week.

Full Fast: Drink only liquids.

Daniel Fast: Eat no meat, no sweets and no bread. Drink water and juice and eat fruits and vegetables. Or give up one type of food or drink (meat, sweets, soda, etc).

Partial Fast: A partial fast is from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm or from sun up to sundown.

Media Fast: Abstain from Facebook, TV, smartphone, etc.

You can select from four types of fasting as noted above or find your own!
